Jaguars’ Defense Closes In on Historic 25-Game Rushing Streak
Jacksonville has gone 24 consecutive games without allowing an opposing running back to reach 75 rushing yards, with Derrick Henry next in line to test the streak.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are approaching a rare defensive milestone, with their next matchup against the Baltimore Ravens offering an opportunity to extend an impressive run against opposing rushing attacks.
Jacksonville has prevented every opposing running back from reaching 75 rushing yards in each of its last 24 games. Keeping that record intact on Thursday night would make the Jaguars only the third team in the Super Bowl era to achieve the mark across 25 consecutive games.
The challenge is expected to come largely from Derrick Henry, who remains central to Baltimore’s offensive plans. Henry leads the NFL this season with 158 rushing attempts and has averaged more than 20 carries per game. With the Ravens turning to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano for his first career start at quarterback, the running game could become even more important to their chances of competing with Jacksonville.
However, Henry’s workload has not translated into his usual level of production. At 32, he is averaging a career-low 4.0 yards per carry, a figure that highlights the challenge facing Baltimore as it looks for a productive performance on the ground.
The matchup therefore presents two contrasting objectives: Baltimore needs Henry to provide a major contribution to support its inexperienced quarterback, while Jacksonville will look to maintain the defensive consistency that has kept opposing runners below the 75-yard threshold for nearly two dozen games.
A strong performance from Henry could give the Ravens a path to an upset. But the Jaguars’ defensive record makes clear that reaching that target will be a difficult task.
