An explosion occurred early on November 1 at the Goldenson Building of Harvard Medical School in Boston. The Harvard University Police Department reported that the blast appeared to be intentional.

When a police officer arrived after a fire alarm was triggered at 2:48 a.m., two individuals were seen fleeing the building. Both wore light-colored ski masks. One was dressed in khaki pants, grey Crocs, and a brown hoodie, while the other wore dark plaid pajama pants and a dark hoodie.

The Boston Fire Department’s arson unit confirmed the explosion was deliberate. Authorities searched the building and found no additional devices. No injuries were reported.

The FBI and local law enforcement are assisting with the ongoing investigation. The fourth floor of the building, where the incident occurred, has been closed, while the rest of the building remains open. Faculty were advised to come to campus only if necessary.

Harvard has not disclosed the full extent of damage, and investigators continue to seek the identities of the individuals seen in surveillance footage.
