British No. 1 Jack Draper staged an impressive comeback from a set down to defeat Matteo Berrettini and advance to the Qatar Open semi-finals.

Berrettini, a former Wimbledon finalist, claimed the first set, but world No. 16 Draper—who has been battling recent injury setbacks—fought back in style to secure a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over the Italian.

"In the second set, I felt like I was creating chances but not quite capitalizing on them, so I just stayed strong," Draper told Sky Sports. "It was a tough battle against a great player. I was really proud of my efforts in Australia, reaching the fourth round despite not having any pre-season matches.

"I’ve worked hard with my coach and on my fitness, and I’m glad I’ve found a better level this week, gaining confidence with each match."

Draper will now face Jiri Lehecka in the semi-finals after the Czech player pulled off a surprise 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over top seed Carlos Alcaraz.

The loss marked only the second defeat of the year for Spain’s four-time Grand Slam champion, who also fell to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Russia's Andrey Rublev overcame second seed Alex de Minaur 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8) to set up a semifinal clash with Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime, who advanced via walkover after Daniil Medvedev withdrew due to illness.
