Detained Gaza Hospital Director Allegedly Held at Notorious Israeli Military Base

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of a prominent hospital in Gaza, is reportedly being detained at Sde Teiman, a controversial Israeli military base near the Gaza border. This follows a raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital, the last major operational health facility in northern Gaza, which was shut down by Israeli forces.
During the raid, staff alleged that Israeli forces started a fire in the hospital, forced employees to strip and wait outside for hours, and subsequently ordered them to leave. Dr. Abu Safiya has not been publicly seen since the incident.
The Israeli military accused Dr. Abu Safiya of being "a Hamas terrorist operative" and claimed the hospital was being used as a "command and control center" by Hamas, though no evidence has been provided. Meanwhile, recently released detainees have told CNN that Dr. Abu Safiya and other medics from the raid are being held at the Sde Teiman facility.
Two former detainees claim they saw the doctor at the facility, while another stated he heard his name being mentioned. has contacted the Israeli military for confirmation but has not yet received a response.
