College student Jaren Barajas has made headlines after defeating Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard in a three-point shooting challenge, securing a $100,000 prize.

The competition took place during the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday as part of the MrBeast $100,000 Challenge. The 18-year-old delivered what he later described as a "life-changing" shot.

In the contest, Barajas needed to make a single three-pointer from the logo at half-court before Lillard could hit three. As the veteran guard successfully made two attempts, Barajas nailed a dramatic buzzer-beater with his final shot, igniting wild celebrations inside Chase Center.

Among those witnessing the unforgettable moment were NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal, who enthusiastically embraced Barajas, and Steph Curry, who watched in disbelief from courtside.

“This means everything to me—it will help my family a lot and support my education,” said Barajas, a freshman at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, California, according to The Associated Press.

Following his winning shot, Barajas was hoisted onto the shoulders of mascots, thrown into a box of cash, and showered with dollar bills.

“It was a dramatic finish—he made the shot right as the clock expired,” said nine-time All-Star Lillard, who later failed to defend his title in the official three-point contest, which was won by Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro. “I love moments like this where you can make a difference in someone’s life.”

After the challenge, which was hosted by YouTuber MrBeast, the NBA announced a $50,000 donation to Lillard’s scholarship fund and another $50,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Oakland and San Francisco.
