In an amended lawsuit, Blake Lively’s legal team has expanded its case against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, adding nearly 50 pages detailing allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation.

Filed in a New York federal court on Tuesday, just before a judge’s deadline, the updated complaint asserts that multiple women working on the film’s set were made uncomfortable by Baldoni’s “unwelcome behavior” and confided in Lively. One female co-star allegedly reported her concerns to Sony, the film’s distributor.

“Ms. Lively brought this lawsuit because she was one of the ‘women or two’ that Mr. Baldoni ‘one million percent’ … ‘made uncomfortable’ on set,” the complaint states. It further claims that Baldoni was aware of these concerns but failed to take appropriate action.

According to the lawsuit, after Lively first reported Baldoni’s behavior in May 2023, another female cast member also raised concerns with a Sony representative and another producer. Baldoni was informed of the complaint and reportedly acknowledged it in writing, stating that adjustments would be made. However, a week later, the same actress confided in Lively that she continued to feel uneasy and found it difficult to communicate with Baldoni.

Lively’s attorneys argue that instead of making changes to improve the on-set environment, Baldoni retaliated against Lively by hiring a crisis management team and launching a smear campaign to damage her reputation.

“The complaint includes substantial evidence showing that Ms. Lively was not alone in raising concerns about on-set misconduct long before the film’s release,” Lively’s attorneys, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, said in a statement to “It also details the threats, harassment, and intimidation tactics used against Ms. Lively and other innocent bystanders in response to her claims.”

Baldoni’s attorney dismissed the amended lawsuit as “underwhelming” and based on “unsubstantiated hearsay” from unnamed individuals who are no longer willing to speak out.

Lively’s legal team stated that they deliberately withheld some names to protect witnesses from online harassment. “These individuals have permitted Ms. Lively to share the substance of their statements, and they will testify and provide evidence during the discovery process,” the complaint states.

Additionally, Lively has added two new claims to her lawsuit, including defamation, alleging that Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has made false and damaging remarks about her in the media in an attempt to retaliate. The lawsuit claims Freedman has engaged in a campaign to discredit Lively, using public statements to undermine her credibility and intimidate potential witnesses.

The Ongoing Legal Battle

Lively’s amended lawsuit marks the latest chapter in the high-profile legal dispute between her and Baldoni, who played an on-screen couple in the film, which explores themes of domestic violence.

Lively first filed a civil rights complaint against Baldoni in December, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation. She claims that after voicing concerns about on-set misconduct, Baldoni and his team worked behind the scenes to destroy her reputation in the media and online.

Baldoni has denied the allegations and filed a countersuit, accusing Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of attempting to tarnish his reputation and seize creative control of the film. He is suing them and their publicist for $400 million, as well as the New York Times for $250 million, alleging the newspaper colluded with Lively’s team to publish a biased narrative. The NYT has denied the claims and stands by its reporting.

Headed to Trial in 2026

Despite Hollywood’s tendency to settle high-profile disputes privately, both parties appear determined to take the case to trial. Lawyers for Lively and Baldoni have requested that the judge forego mediation, signaling that a settlement is unlikely.

The trial is scheduled for March 2026.

As the legal battle intensifies, Lively’s attorneys have subpoenaed phone and email records from Baldoni and his team, aiming to uncover further evidence of the alleged smear campaign. Baldoni’s attorney has objected, calling the effort a “massive fishing expedition.”

A judge has yet to rule on the subpoenas, but the outcome could significantly impact the direction of the case.
