Benson Boone wasn’t just a nominee for Best New Artist at the Grammys—he also delivered a moment that quickly went viral.
While performing his hit song "Beautiful Things" during Sunday’s ceremony, Boone surprised the audience by shedding his formal attire to reveal a figure-hugging, sparkly blue jumpsuit. The bold outfit left little to the imagination, drawing plenty of attention.
Near the end of his performance, Boone adjusted the crotch area of his jumpsuit before thanking the crowd for their enthusiastic applause, a move that sparked surprised reactions from the audience.
The moment didn’t go unnoticed online, prompting Boone to address it on his Instagram Stories. Sharing a photo of himself from the event, he wrote, “Apologies for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight—that thing was seriously restrictive in certain areas.”
Before the show, Boone described the surreal experience of attending the Grammys in an interview with Access Hollywood, saying, “It feels like a fever dream. It’s so crazy. I was at rehearsals just looking at the name tags of who’s going to be in the audience… It’s the ultimate honor to be here tonight.”
Though Boone’s performance received high praise—and his wardrobe adjustment added to the buzz—he ultimately lost the Best New Artist award to Chappell Roan.
