Mayor’s Office Division Introduces FY26 NYC Civic Impact Funding Framework

New York, NY – February 12, 2026
NYC Service, a division of the New York City Mayor’s Office, hosted its FY26 NYC Civic Impact Funding Virtual Information Session, presenting a strategic framework to expand civic engagement and volunteer-driven services across New York City.
As outlined during the session, NYC Service is focused on expanding civic engagement through volunteerism and service, building partnerships that create sustainable change for the city’s greatest needs.
Supporting High-Need Communities
The FY26 NYC Civic Impact Funding initiative will support nonprofit and community-based organizations in engaging volunteers to deliver essential services in neighborhoods experiencing high levels of health and socioeconomic disparities.
The program provides:
• Direct funding support
• Volunteer management training
• Networking opportunities
City officials emphasized measurable impact, increased volunteer engagement, stronger community ties, and improved volunteer management systems as core program outcomes.
Commitment to Equity
The funding prioritizes organizations operating in TRIE (Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity) neighborhoods, reinforcing the City’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in volunteer programming.
Eligible uses of funds include volunteer engagement personnel, training materials, outreach efforts, background checks, volunteer support stipends such as transportation assistance, and volunteer management software. Funds may not be used for rent, utilities, insurance, or general overhead expenses.
Community Participation
Nonprofit leaders and community stakeholders attended the virtual session to explore opportunities for strengthening volunteer infrastructure citywide. Among the attendees was Maged Amin, Vice President of New Egypt Group Inc., who participated to evaluate potential avenues for expanding volunteer engagement efforts within underserved communities.
The FY26 NYC Civic Impact Funding program reflects the Mayor’s Office’s continued investment in empowering community-based organizations and strengthening volunteer-led service delivery throughout New York City.
