LIVERPOOL, England — After nearly a decade at Goodison Park, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has confirmed he is leaving Everton as a free agent. The 27-year-old striker announced the news via social media on Sunday, marking the end of a significant chapter in both his career and the club’s recent history.

“This isn't something I chose lightly,” Calvert-Lewin wrote. “Everton has been my home since I was 19. It’s where I grew not only as a footballer but also as a man.”

Calvert-Lewin joined Everton in 2016 from Sheffield United and went on to make 239 Premier League appearances, scoring 57 goals. His breakout season came in 2020–21, when he scored 16 league goals and earned international recognition with England.

However, his last four seasons have been plagued by injuries and inconsistency, producing only 17 goals in that span.

“The choice to move on was not simply about me,” he added. “It was a family decision, considered deeply and carefully.”

With his contract expiring this summer, Calvert-Lewin now becomes a free agent, and speculation is already building around potential destinations for the talented yet injury-hampered forward.
