Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

The Official Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the call discussed the latest developments in Egypt’s efforts, in coordination with relevant parties, to end the war in Gaza.

President El-Sisi reviewed the details of the agreement reached on the 8th of this month in Sharm El-Sheikh and presented Egypt’s vision for the next phase and the mechanisms for implementing the agreement, which is based on the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

He emphasized the importance of preserving the role and status of the Palestinian Authority and creating the necessary conditions for the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy.

In this context, the President extended an invitation to the German Chancellor to attend the ceremony that Egypt will host to mark the signing of the Gaza War Ceasefire Agreement.

Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

For his part, Chancellor Merz expressed Germany’s appreciation for Egypt’s vital role in reaching the ceasefire agreement, affirming Germany’s support for the accord and its hope that it will pave the way for lasting peace in the region. He also expressed his anticipation for Egypt’s upcoming hosting of the Gaza Reconstruction Conference.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the Presidential Spokesman, added that the call also touched on bilateral relations between Egypt and Germany, as well as Egypt’s relations with the European Union.
