NYPD Officer Prevents Theft During Mosque Prayer Service
Brooklyn, NY — October 8, 2025: Quick action and sharp observation by Officer Alsubai of the NYPD’s 68th Precinct prevented a potential theft during evening prayers at a local mosque located at 7307 5th Avenue, Brooklyn.
While attending a prayer service around 8:00 PM, Officer Alsubai noticed a man acting suspiciously inside the mosque. Recognizing him from a wanted flyer for multiple grand larcenies, in which worshippers’ belongings were stolen during prayers, the officer immediately took action.
He calmly approached the suspect, keeping him inside the mosque while alerting 911. Responding officers from the 68th Precinct arrived swiftly and placed the suspect under arrest.
The individual is reportedly wanted in connection with a citywide larceny pattern (2024-47) and is now in custody under case numbers K25665985 and K25665987.
This arrest highlights Officer Alsubai’s dedication, vigilance, and commitment to keeping both his community and house of worship safe.
