Egypt’s Ambassador to Australia Meets with Nauru’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
Ministers discuss cooperation, regional peace, and cultural exchange
Canberra, Australia — H.E. Ambassador Hany Nagi, Egypt’s Ambassador to Australia, met with Hon. Lionel Aingimea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Nauru, at the start of the minister’s visit to Canberra.
The meeting explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various fields, in light of the long-standing friendship between the two nations. Both sides discussed opportunities to enhance mutual interests, promote coordination in international forums, and advance consultation on issues of shared concern.
The discussions also addressed several key international and regional developments, particularly the situation in Palestine. H.E. Ambassador Nagi highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire, deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and implement the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, including plans for Gaza’s reconstruction.
Minister Aingimea commended Egypt’s pivotal regional role in promoting peace and stability, and its continuous efforts to de-escalate crises and support stability across the region.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Aingimea also expressed his admiration for Egypt’s rich civilization and culture, referring to the remarkable opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum and expressing his eagerness to visit Egypt in the near future.
