Ed Sheeran Teams Up with Tokyo’s Toei Oedo Subway for Unique Train Campaign
Special eight-car train showcases Sheeran’s life, career, and new album Play along Tokyo’s Oedo subway line

TOKYO — A unique collaboration between British singer Ed Sheeran and Tokyo’s Toei Oedo subway line launched on September 8, offering fans an immersive experience celebrating the global star’s life and music.
Dubbed “Oh! Ed!”—a playful pun combining Sheeran’s name and the Oedo Line—the campaign features a special eight-car train decorated with themes centered on Sheeran’s journey and career.
Each subway car highlights a different aspect: the first car explores Sheeran’s early life and childhood dreams; the second details the milestones of his music career; and the third showcases messages from his latest album Play, which debuted in Japan on September 12.
Fans can also purchase official collaboration merchandise, including T-shirts and keychains, along with a special one-day Oedo Line pass designed to resemble the Play album cover. The adult pass costs ¥700 (approximately S$6), and the child pass is ¥350.
An exciting component of the campaign is a stamp rally featuring six locations, primarily along the Toei Oedo subway line, encouraging fans to explore the city while celebrating Sheeran’s music.
The collaboration was proposed by Warner Music Japan Inc., inspired by the magenta cover of Play—a color that matches the Toei Oedo Line’s signature hue on Tokyo transit maps and signs.
Ed Sheeran, a four-time Grammy Award winner, continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his heartfelt songwriting and distinctive voice, now celebrated in a vibrant Tokyo subway experience.
The “Oh! Ed!” train will run until October 12, giving fans over a month to catch this one-of-a-kind tribute.
