For the past eleven years, the city of Alexandria has been a vibrant hub for short film events, showcasing the talents of a new generation that believes in the power of art to address and engage with societal issues.

This year’s competition witnessed an impressive global turnout, with films submitted from 113 countries. A total of 2,300 films advanced to the technical selection committees.

At a distinguished opening ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, Director of the Opera House, welcomed prominent public figures and artists. Before the event officially began, renowned actor Mahmoud Hemida praised the outstanding organization of the opening and emphasized the importance of such festivals in highlighting the role of youth and art in portraying real-life issues and seeking solutions for community challenges.

The evening began with a captivating performance by the Anfoushi Folk Arts Troupe, earning wide admiration from the audience. The program continued with presentations previewing the films to be screened later in theaters. Several notable figures were also honored for their exceptional contributions to the arts.
