Alec and Stephen Baldwin Escape Unharmed After Car Accident in the Hamptons
Actor Alec Baldwin assured fans that he and his brother, fellow actor Stephen Baldwin, are both safe following a car accident in the Hamptons over the weekend.
In a video shared on social media, the 30 Rock star explained that the crash occurred when a large garbage truck “the size of a whale” suddenly cut in front of their vehicle. Baldwin said he swerved to avoid the truck, causing the white Range Rover — which belongs to his wife, Hilaria Baldwin — to collide with a tree.
“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my wife’s car,” Baldwin said, adding that both he and his brother escaped injury. “It’s all fine. I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.”
Stephen Baldwin’s representative confirmed that the younger Baldwin was unharmed, stating, “Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”
The incident reportedly took place on Montauk Highway in East Hampton, New York. Stephen Baldwin had been visiting Alec for the weekend to attend the Hamptons International Film Festival, where Alec Baldwin serves as Co-Chair of the Board Executive Committee.
Alec Baldwin also expressed his gratitude to local authorities for their quick assistance and praised those involved in organizing the film festival.
Photos published by The New York Post showed the aftermath of the crash, including the damaged SUV and a large garbage truck at the scene, with Alec Baldwin seen making a phone call nearby.
